Take a number and wait until you're called.

I start to write
Then inspiration
Takes flight
Like startled birds
Maybe ducks
Or pheasants
If I could
I’d have a brace
To save face
Fashion a verse
About something
Pleasant

But the birds
That are words
Have escaped
The only way
To capture them
Would be to fly
Ridiculous
I know
But if I will it
I could let go
Of this Earth
Take to the sky

To the sky
Of untold paragraphs
Of boundless images
Of defining allusions
And genius analogies

But I’m left staring
At the page
No bird
Or word landing
For me to capture
And cage

Wow, talk about a good way to write about writer's block

I agree! Just be careful and don't do any writing around Dick Cheney. But seriously...

No bird
Or word landing
For me to capture
And cage

I think you done just fine, Maso.

Zoo,

Thanks mate. I've always thought the best way to get through a block was to chop it in half. Seems like I might have done this now too.

Roy,

I think you done just fine

Thanks to you too, mate. I like this one for its goofiness.

Thanks, Serenity. I actually like this one more and more each time I read it (I hope I doesn't sound conceited... )

Oh, please do, mate. I'd love to see some more of your writing. Get to it!
