Rockin' the house...

Last Saturday evening, we played our third gig, again at the Cat & Fiddle. This time round we were second band on for the night but we still had a good crowd to watch us. Although we had a few 'technical glitches', I thought we actually put on a better show all round. Rehearsing is obviously paying off but I also think we're getting comfortable with working the stage together. All in all, this was was a very enjoyable gig.

The big news is that we've decided to add a live bass player and drummer to the band. We've been using backing tracks, which has worked our fine and meant we were able to stay very tight but it also means we can't 'jam out' like we'd like to be able to do. From a live perspective, if we can do this, it will only add to our show. Friends of the MC, twin girls, turned up last Saturday and really liked what we were doing. The great thing about these girls is that one is a bass player and one is a drummer. We are going to start rehearsing with them very soon. I can't begin to tell you all how exciting this is for me, although I must admit it will be the first band I've ever been in where there is an even gender balance. I'm looking forward to seeing how this will work. I will keep you all posted.

Sorry (he says with a mischievious smile), all I could think of when reading you were getting "a live Bass player and drummer" is that is better than dead ones as they do tend to have more rhythm.

I will be waiting to hear more.  COngrats on your third gig.

That's great! "Practice makes perfect" as the saying goes! Sounds like you guys (and dolls) or on the right track.

And you'd be right too. Let me tell you, these girls have more life in them than half the people I know. I am looking forward to working with them as I think they have that certain 'something' that makes them stick out from the crowd.

Serenity:

We certainly have found the map to the right track, and at least we're not going round in circles anymore. Thanks for your continued support.
