Thanks Shovelheat for providing this...

I've been really overwhelmed by the response to the JU Writers Club so far. Thanks to everyone for your support. We've had some fantastic short pieces already and I can hardly wait to see what you all think of next.

To that end, Shovel has suggested a picture to provide inspiration. In true Shovel form, it is risque and should, erm, stimulate imaginations well. Following is the link to the picture he suggested: Link

I'm still waiting to hear back from Admin about the problem I have creating a blog group. Until then, I think both BlueDev and Xythe's suggestion of posting a link on this back to the individual's page with the story is probably the best way to go.

Thanks again to everyone for your participation so far. You guys and gals rock

As salacious a picture as it is, I'm having difficulties . . .

Sigh...

I know it's my pic but so am I! (my bad? wait don't answer that...   )

Feel free anybody to toss something else out there!

But is anyone else (besides FS) writing on it because I haven't seen anything.

I decided not to try. The heat was too intense for me around all the pros here!

Serenity,

It is why I put the 'should' like so. As this is art, I believe there shouldn't be too many rules. Sometimes the most creative pieces are those that step outside the rules and do something daring.

Tova,

I've got a few pieces in mind I'm currently working on. It appears as though a lot of people are having problems, though. Can I suggest an idea? Those of us who have something to go one with, carry on, and those who don't, well why not someone put up something else to inspire the rest of us. I don't think there is any reason why we can't have a few different inspirations running at the same time.

As for the tshirt, I really appeciate your efforts. I will do a swap with you and send you a Maroubra tshirt, if you let me know your size.

See my response to Tova, guys. Lets keep things moving forward.

Doc,

Yeah, right, mate. Nice of you to say, but certainly not true, in my case. Besides I'd rather being a hack than an expert as an expert is only a has-been drip under pressure (think about it).

True in all cases!  I am impressed with the writing.  You can now judge my lame attempt.

Now that I'm home I'll work on something besides a one liner.
on Nov 20, 2006
Mason,

Bloody hell, I missed the one liner... What a good one, too.

The other one I thought of would be "No, smile when you look at the camera."

Great idea...I don't have anything off the cuff...but I'll chew on it.

That is a deal! We have our Thanksgiving Thursday this week. So it may be a week or so before I get a chance to look again....I am going to my aunt's house to help prepare the meal on Weds...and staying all night. But I will find one...a good one.

Doc,

Flattery will get you nowhere... Well, maybe you'd get your hand up my shirt, but that's it!

Mason,

I'll work on something besides a one liner.

Cool, looking forward to it.

Tova,

Take your time, I'm in no rush. Let me know your size so I can start looking around myself. And thanks again

I don't want to step on anyone's toes but I have a great site that can inspire me to get started with something, anything when I'm uninspired. It's called the Story Spinner. I think it would be fun to see what everyone can come up with using these guidelines. What do you think?

Setting for your story:

at the podiatrist

Starting phrase for your story:

Every time I taste

Four words you must include in your story:

Facade
Swiss Cheese
Dial Tone
Cream

You'll be amazed at the results!

Eh...maybe I have something in the works. maybe...

Locamama,

Story Spinner

Hey, I like the idea. I will concentrate on the other stories I working on before I have a crack at your suggestion. Thanks for putting it up.

Shovel,

Don't tell me the picture doesn't inspire you to do something
on Nov 20, 2006
Ok, here it is, such as it is. Hardly worthy of this esteemed group but the best I could do at the moment.

I only wear t-shirts when I'm working out and sleeping....so I like them loose. A men's medium would be good. OR if its a ladies..a large.

Thanks.

Tova,

No problems. I will see what I can find and get back to you. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, by the way.
