Take a number and wait until you're called.

Hopefully, this will stimulate everyone’s imaginations. Some of my favourite stories are those that appear to be a glimpse into the future. Not necessarily science fiction as such, more almost alternate realities.

For instance, you could rewrite an historic event from the perspective of here and now or perhaps a piece set in a future where, for instance, water has become more precious than gold. You could write a poem or a play about a typical day living in the 22nd Century. It really is up to you as there are so many different ways to go with this. I’m sure with all the different and wonderful imaginations here, we’ll see some great results.

As Kelly has done, drop a link to your story into this post to make it easy for everyone to track the stories down. Happy writing

Alternate realities?  I like those.   Pretty much all of my short stories are in alternate realities...or at least where some really weird shit happens.

This is a great idea Maso. Only, for me it will have to wait at least a week.

I'll see what I can come up with.

Zoo,

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Kelly,

Thank you for kicking starting JUWC again.  And I look forward to your submission too.

Sancho,

After your Divergence haiku, I'm keen to see what you'll write next.

Here is my submission: http://masomusing.joeuser.com/article/306129/JUWC_-_Future_Glimpses_submission

Maso...You need an index... hahaha...

You want alternate reality, you got it.   Not really futuristic, but I think you'll like it anyway.  It might affect the future, though.

Heh, heh.

Cool idea, Mark. I got a few ideas. Maybe I'll do what I did last time write a silly poem then a story.

Chris,

I'm looking forward to reading what you write, regardless.
