Heres to friends old and new...

I haven't been with JU long. After one particular article, I thought I might have to retire hurt, given how many people I upset. But I stuck it out and am grateful I did. There are some particularly good authors, diarists or whatever one calls them here at JU who seem to share my love of the written word. It is these people who make me come back time and again. It is also these people who inspire me to write more.

So, with that in mind, I would like to thank the following folk (in no particular order) - Floozie, BlueDev, IamHeather, Champas-Socialist, Mignuna, Greywar, Island-Gurl, Shadesofgrey, Shovelheat, Myrrander, Gideon McLeish, DharmaGirl, Philomedy, Phoenixboi and Manopeace. I'm sure there are others I've forgotten about, but the above have encouraged, challenged, supported me and made me laugh.

To you all, and everyone at JU, I wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy, safe and prosperous New Year.

Cheers,

Maso

Merry Christmas to you too, Maso!

I know that there was no particular order, but I'm always excited when I make it first on someone's list I'll grow up one day.

Where will you be for Christmas? It's apparently expected to snow in the afternoon over here, which is entirely too exciting for me! Compared to the hot Sydney Christmases I'm used to, it's going to be amazing.

I hope Santa's kind to you,

Suz xxx

Merry Christmas Maso. I am grateful that after our initial encounter (in which I was perhaps more than a little out of line) I have had the chance to get to "know" you a little better. I really enjoy your writing and what you bring to JU. Have a wonderful Christmas and holiday season!

Ravenblack - thanks very much for the wishes and the same to you.

Floozie - I am staying in Sydney for Christmas - spending it with my wife and some friends. It is expected to be overcast and humid here tomorrow, so I guess we'll drink far too much vodka and beer (though not together) and have big naps in the afternoon. I hope your Christmas is white, something I've never experienced. Let me know what its like. All the best for the day and the coming year. I know its early days but I'm looking forward to getting to know you more.

Danny - thanks for the words of advice and the wishes. I have you have a great holiday.

BlueDev - when were you out of line? I challenged JU and some of you rose to the challenge. As I said then, the strength of a community can only be tested through challenging it. Your response is part of the reason why I'm still here. I really appreciate your comments and wise words. I'm really glad we've gotten to 'know' each other. I would sincerely like for this to continue to grow. All my very best for the season and I wish you and your family a healthy, safe and prosperous New Year.

Merry Xmas Maso! I'm happy i'm one of the people who got you to stick around, i really enjoy your articles. I confess when i read an article most of the times its because of the author not the title.

Well our Xmas is humid too, last nights it rained hard and there was thunder so today is just grey. We plan on Mateus rosé (hum hum, s'il vous plaît...) and champagne. But what is a party without beer? So we'll have beer, whisky, vodka and gin (alcoholics? Us? Nah!)

Anyway, have a wonderful christmas no matter what!

Dharma - thanks and back at you.

Island - we are certainly planning on an alcohol-fueled yuletide celebration. Included is a fine bottle of Moet, a large bottle of Absolut and about 2 dozen small bottles of beer, alongside two rolled chicken roasts, 2 dozen prawns, salads, sweets, jelly etc. It is a day of stuffing and excess and I can hardly wait...

Cheers,

Maso
